The New Inn, Stoke Abbott - half a mile
The Local Boozer. Great food, and within walking distance if you don't mind steep hills. If walking at night do bring a torch, especially if you are going through the woods.
The Five Bells, Whitchurch - 7 miles through narrow lanes
Old school proper pub which warmly welcomes travellers and locals alike. Do check in advance that it is open via their website
The Marquis of Lorne, Nettlecombe - 8 miles including some narrow lanes
Remote setting and consistently good food - including on Mondays
The Greyhound Inn, Sydling St Nicholas - 15 miles
Charming village, great place for Sunday Lunch
The Anchor, Seatown - 10 miles
Good food but limited seating and can get very busy, also the approach road is very narrow. The beach is incomparable. Park in the large carpark and walk to West Bay over the cliffs getting a cab back. It's about 4 miles.
Hive Beach, Burton Bradstock - 11 miles
A truly beautiful sandy beach owned by the National Trust. Big sandy car park is very handy. Dogs restricted from some areas in summer. There is an upmarket cafe that does good food.
